Today is cloudy
I haven't heard no birds
singing lovely melodies
Just my thoughts racing
A mile a minute
Grabbed the trees
To feel relieved
In this world I been dreaming
I been kicking up the dirt
I took if off
I seen the trails on my shirt
Which lead to my story
The path that has been called my life
I wouldn't give it back
Even through all the pain
As i look in the mirror
I just wouldn't be the same
As i begin to look up
The sun begins to shine
Like a lighting bolt
Which sent a sudden jolt
I felt it through my pores
the notion has been set

TODAY
I EMBRACED THE NIGHT
FORGOTTEN MEMORIES OF THE DAY
SO I RACED TOWARDS THE LIGHT
HERE IT WAS CLEAR
I REALIZED THE BIG PICTURE
PICKED UP THE SLACK
I STOPPED POINTING MY FINGER
CAN'T BLAME THE NEXT MAN
SOMETIMES PEOPLE AGENDAS
ARE WRITTEN ALL OVER THERE FACES
YOU CAN SPILL OUT YOUR SOUL
IN REAL CONVERSATIONS
WHILE THEY ARE NOT EVEN LISTENING
DRIFTING IN OTHER PLACES
NEVER PAYING ATTENTION
EVEN IF YOU HAVE A HEART OF GOLD
SOMETIMES THEY DON'T CEE IT

WE ARE THE CONTROLLERS

HOW HIGH WE HOLD OUR HEAD
